Privacy

What this site collects.

Enough to know whether anyone is reading and whether the workbooks are any use to them. Not enough to know who you are.

Visits are counted by Umami (opens in a new tab), an analytics service that runs without cookies and without building a profile of you. Your IP address is used briefly to work out a country and to count you as one visitor rather than several; Umami states that it is not stored. Everything below is aggregate — I can see that a workbook was downloaded eleven times, not who downloaded it.

Collected

  • The page you looked at, and when.
  • Where you arrived from — a search engine, LinkedIn, or a link someone sent you, including any marker on that link.
  • Your country, browser and device type.
  • Whether you started a download or clicked through to GitHub, LinkedIn or my email address.
  • Anonymous timings for how quickly the page loaded.

Not collected

  • No cookies. Nothing is stored on your device, which is why you were not asked to accept anything.
  • No name, email address, or any means of identifying or contacting you.
  • No tracking across other websites. What you do elsewhere is invisible here, and the reverse.
  • No advertising networks. Nothing collected is sold, shared or handed to a third party.
  • No contact form, so there is nothing you could type into this site for it to capture.

Opting out, and email

Any ad blocker or privacy extension will stop the analytics script from running, and the site works exactly the same without it. Nothing on these pages depends on being measured.

Email is separate and is not analytics. If you write to me at the address on the Contact page, that message is forwarded to a personal mailbox and kept there like any other email. It is not added to a list and you will not be sent anything you did not ask for.
